Statement on Attorney General Maura Healey’s comments at the NECA Renewable Energy Conference.

The statement below is from the Green Line Infrastructure Alliance in reaction to Attorney General Maura Healey’s comments at the NECA Renewable Energy Conference.

“We welcome Attorney General Healey’s support of a regional, competitive procurement for efficient and diverse energy resources. We appreciate her focus on the need for transmission projects to bring clean energy to our region if we are to reach our green house gas reduction goals. These choices are not just about energy–our future economic growth depends on it. We look forward to presenting our plans for up to 2800 MW of clean energy that would flow via a combination wind and hydropower transmission line that will help achieve the goals laid out by the Attorney General today,” said Ed Krapels, CEO of Anbaric Transmission, and Stan Blazewicz, Vice President of Business Development at National Grid, the leaders of the Green Line Infrastructure Alliance.

About Green Line Infrastructure Alliance

National Grid, one of the world’s largest transmission companies and an energy provider with deep roots in the Northeast, and Anbaric, an innovative, proven transmission project developer, joined forces in 2014 as the Green Line Infrastructure Alliance. The alliance reflects the companies’ shared vision to help transform New England’s energy landscape while driving a healthy regional economy and environment. Together they will deliver a combination of two highly complementary sources of clean, abundant and affordable energy—onshore wind and hydropower—to the region. The alliance will work to develop large-scale, high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) transmission projects that combine wind and hydropower to address regional energy issues that are critical to policymakers and energy consumers such as rising prices, declining fuel diversity and the need for more renewable energy.
